Aperture Card

Good morning and Happy Choosday to you all. This weeks challenge at Digi Choosday is to use an Aperture card. If you don't know what one of those is it is a card that has a cut out piece in the front.
Here is my make:

The beautiful image is by Emma Canning and is called Summer Stroll. She is coloured with my Graph'It Markers. I made the aperture card myself using some Spellbinders dies. The papers are from the Bonbon Belles Double CD as is the bunting. The butterfly is from one of the Tattered Lace mags and the ribbon and flowers are from my stash.
I have used some of the same paper to mat behind the image on the inside of the card to frame it.

Digi Choosday challenge week 15

Good morning all it's Tuesday so that means time for another challenge at Digi Choosday. The challenge this week is "Paper Piecing" and here is my project.

The image is Jack the Pirate and can be found here in the Polkadoodles Etsy Store and also Bonbon Belles Double CD Collection the papers I have used for the piecing and backgrounds are from the same CD, as are the embellishments and sentiments. I've added faux stitching around the papers and sentiments.

Pan Pastel week 41 UK challenge

I have recently started using Pan Pastels and have fallen in love with the metallics so thought I'd enter their challenge. This challenge is "Falling Leaves" and here is what I have created.

For the background I mixed some Pan Pastel  with some Gesso and put in on through a leaf mask. I then used a gold, copper and bronze Pan for the background and then went over the leaves again with the green to make them stand out a bit more. I then printed some leaves from the Bonbon Belles Double CD and some trees and acorns from the Cherryblossom Lane CD. I added some copper Pan to the leaves and trees to give them a look of Autumn. I'm really please with how this turned out.

Polka Doodles challenge week 40

The challenge over at Polka Doodles this week is Autumn. Here is the card I have made.
For the card I have used papers, images and embellishments from the Bonbon Belles Double CD Collection and from the Sundae of Seasons CD-Rom. I created a background in the My Craft Studio program and added some shadows to give depth. I also cut some leaves out separately to add some 3D embellishments to the card.

Polka Doodles Challenge week 38

The challenge over at Polka Doodles this week is Candy Colours.
After looking through the fabby Bonbon Belles Double CD Collection for ages I finally decided on the images to use and came up with this card
I've made a little scene with 4 of the images and added some die cuts. I've slightly coloured the die cuts with some blue distress ink. I used a pre-coloured image this week to show that you don't have to be a colourer to use these CD's as Nikky Hall always gives you pre-coloured digis as well as black and white ones.

Lacy Sunshine Challenge 17

The challenge over at  Lacy Sunshine is "Under the Sea" with Anything Goes as the theme.
Here is my card featuring Pearl Sea Kissed mermaid which you can find here.
I have coloured her with Graph It markers which you can find here. The papers and beach hut are from the Polka Doodles Bonbon Belles CD. I've used some nesties to lay the image on and some mirror card from Kanban. I've also added some liquid pearls around the image.

Polkadoodles Challenge week 34

The challenge over at Polkadoodles this week is "All things bright and beautiful"

I needed to make a card for a 40th this week and what better than to use this theme for a special occasion card. The image, papers, messages and embellishments are all from the fabulous Bonbon Belles Double CD. From my stash I've added some polka dot ribbon and a doily.
The message topper at the bottom is made using a frame, a sentiment, a ribbon and a flourish from the CD which I have layered on top of each other in word to create the perfect sentiment for the card.

Pirate door hanger

You all know how I am infatuated with a certain pirate,
mmmmmm, *swoon*.
Well, there is a new pirate in town and I am loving him too! He is also called Jack and can be found on the fabulous Bonbon Belles CD at Polka Doodles.
I printed some images and papers out the other day and had a blank MDF door hanger,
and today I had some time to craft and this is what it turned into.
The images are coloured with Graph It markers. I slightly distressed and inked the edges of the papers and added some faux stitching. I then remembered I had some seaside themed charms so dug them out and added them onto the hanger to give some dimension. What do you think? I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

And incase you didn't know just how obsessed I am with Captain Jack Sparrow here is a photo of the tattoo I have of him on my leg.

Polka Doodles challenge week 28

For my project for Summer Fun I have done something a bit different. I bought this box frame from a local craft shop and decided this would be perfect for what I had in mind. With a new baby boy arriving in the family in October, the 1st one since 1987, I am adamant he will be a pirate fan like his Great Auntie Anj! So I have made this for him.
All the elements are from the fabulous new Bonbon Belles CD. I've 3D'd some of the elements and added some real sea shells I have gathered on my travels.
