Polka Doodles challenge week 8

The challenge this week is Fantasy/fairy scene.
For my card I have used the Sugarplum Daisy CD. I created the scene on the card then wrapped some acetate around the card creating a dome effect. I cut out some of the animals and put them onto 3D foam on the card and then added more on the acetate front giving it extra dimension. I added the beautiful image with glittered wings on the acetate so it look like she is approaching the house.
I cut out some butterflies and put them on a piece of acetate and hung it over the edge of the acetate front giving it the illusion the butterflies are flying.

Studio 12 Door hangers

Hi, I'm here today with a Studio 12 make, for the Studio 12 blog.
I have used the fabulous Studio 12 Picknix Collection 1 cd to makes these door hangers for my neices. I cut the papers into squares to create a patchwork effect and inked the edges with a distress ink. I cut out all the elements also inking the edges, and glued them in place. I added some faux stitching and finished them off with a Marianne D die cut flower.

Good news

Hello blogland. Today I have some exciting news to share with you. As you know I have been using some of the lovely images drawn by Heather Valentin, which you can buy here at Lacy Sunshine Please don't buy them from anywhere else as they are selling them illegally.
Anyhoo, after Heather seeing my cards I was asked to join the team and become a sunshine girl! Well, how could I refuse, especially seeing as sunshine is my favourite thing! lol

It's all still quite new so this is only their second challenge, why not come and join us at the Lacy Sunshine challenge blog.
The challenge this week is your favourite colour combo.
This is my card.
I've used my fave colour combo of blue and pink. I've coloured Maddie with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers. The papers were a mag freebie and the sentiment is from Stampin Up. I've added a doily and some ribbon and flowers from my stash. I've used a Spun Sugar and Broken China distress inks on the sentiment and image.

Polka Doodles challenge week 7

The challenge over at  this week is Shabby Chic.
For my card I have used the gorgeous Sugarplum Daisy CD. The papers, image and sentiment are all from the CD. I have distressed all the edges of the papers and image with a file and then used the Tim Holtz Spun Sugar distress ink. I've then added some ribbon, flowers, die cuts and pearls. I've added a bit of glitter to the wings to make them sparkle, and added some faux stitching.

I think this CD will become one of my "go to" CD's as I spent ages looking through it before I put this card together.

Mad as a Hatter!

You all know how much I love Alice In Wonderland, which was obviously rekindled due the the new Tim Burton version! I wonder why, lol
Well as soon as I saw this image on Lacy Sunshine I knew I HAD to have it! Now I NEED to find a hat like it!

I've coloured the image with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers. I've also left quite a few white areas which seems to scare some people, but with all the red I thought it didn't need anything else.
The papers are more mag freebies, (I promised myself I would use all these up) and the tea cup papers were perfect for this image! The sentiment is from Stampin Up, and the ribbon from my stash. I've inked around the edges of the papers and image with black ink to make them pop out.

Pretty in pink

Todays card uses another Heather Valentine image which you can find in the Lacy Sunshine shop. The image is called Eleanor and Pickles We Fight Like Girls.
The hair is coloured with some red Copics and the rest of the image with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers. It's very pink isn't it! The papers were more mag freebies. I've also added some lace, flowers and a hat pin from my stash.

Wall art

Hello all it's my turn over at  Polka Doodles with todays Studio 12 make.
I bought some cheap canvases a while ago and decided to use one for todays project. I printed out some papers, sentiments and images from the Studio 12 CD Picknix Collection 1. I cut them all up and inked around the edges of everything with a blue distress ink pad. I then printed out my surname in one of the lovely alphas from the CD, and again inked around the edges. I used a PVA glue to stick everything in place, then added a bit of lace, a clock die cut and some flowers and gems. Lastly I added some faux stictching around the edges.

Once our new extension is built this will be hung on the wall in there.

Lacy Sunshine cards

I have been seeing some of these images on FB on cards made by one of my talented friends Lexie, and had to go buy some! They are by Heather Valentine and you can buy them here.
These are 2 that I coloured and made into cards this weekend.
Both images are coloured with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers. For the 1st one I used the orange family as I think they go great with this image. The image reminds me of me a few years back, as this was so my style in my skinny days! lol

The papers on both cards are freebies that came with a mag. The 2nd one was harder for me as I don't "do" green, it's not a colour I wear, or like very much so it was outside my comfort zone, but I am pleased with how it turned out!

I'm entering these cards into the first challenge at the brand new Lacy Sunshine blog. The theme is "anything goes" so why not join in!
I'll try to get some cards made up with some of the other images I got at the same time sometime soon!

Polka Doodles challenge week 3

The challenge over at Polka Doodles this week is to make a project with 3 layers on and to use red and pink.

I made this weeks card for Mrs Polka Doodles' birthday. The papers are from the fabulous Studio 12 CD Picknix collection 1. I've printed them onto printable canvas to give some texture, and make it even more strokeable, frayed the edges and layered onto red card and kraft card. The cute image is from the new Cherry Blossom Lane CD. I've added some Marianne D diecuts, some flowers and gems. Everything is distressed with the Tim Holtz Festive Berries distress ink. Finally I've added some faux stitching.
I really enjoyed making this card and was really pleased with how it turned out. Just hope Nikky loves it as much as I do!
