Anything Goes

Good morning and Happy
It's time for a new challenge from us at Digi Choosday, and it's the last challenge of the year for us before we break up for the year. Where has this year gone? I'm sure the older I get the faster the years fly by!
Anyhow as always for you the challenge is anything goes, and the team were also allowed to do anything we liked as well. So I thought I'd see the year out with a bang and share some home decor I have made for Christmas. And here it is.
I'm going to show you them letter by letter so you get a better look.
I used the Festive Christmas stamp soup collection for this.
They started out as plain MDF letters from one of the craft shows from this year.
I covered them all with papers from the collection and distressed the edges with a file. I then added some modelling paste around the edges of everything to look like snow. I then got to work fussy cutting lots and lots of embellies to add all over. I also added some paste to the Poinsettias to make it look like they had been snowed on. I added bits of bakers twine, and spider web behind some of the flowers and embellies to give them more interest.

And there you have it. I hope you like it as much as I do.
Now I want to thank you all for following me all year once again, and I wish each and every one of you a very merry christmas and a happy and healthy 2017. I know a lot of us have had a tough year this year so we will be saying goodbye to this year with a raised glass. And praying the next one will be better.
So see you all on the other side!

Paper weaving

Good morning everyone, I'm here today with some mid challenge inspiration from the Polkadoodles blog. The challenge for you as always is Anything Goes but for the team this time we were challenged to use red and green and to make something for Christmas and incorporate some paper weaving. Well, I've never done paper weaving before so this was new to me. Of course I'm on with making my Christmas tags so thought I'd try it on one of those so I didn't get overwhelmed. And here it is.
This first photo shows the paper weaving I did.
I have used the Festive Christmas Stamp Soup collection for this, both the CD and the stamp set.
I weaved the paper and then used a white ink pad and some white embossing powder to add the snowflakes and snowballs. I then added some faux stitching around the edges with a white gel pen.
I then stamped the small petal stamps onto watercolour paper 6 times. I then got out my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour paints and painted 6 petals red and 6 in green. I put them all together to make a Poinsettia flower. I added some yellow stamens in and then glued onto my take. I then stamped the sentiment and went over that with a red wash to continue with the theme.
I think I may have trouble giving this one away on a gift! I may give it to hubby to use on my Christmas gift, that way I get to keep it lol
Here is a close up for you.

Now pop over to the blog to check out my teamies fab makes and get some more inspiration.

2 or more images

Good morning everyone. I'm here today with a new challenge for the Polkadoodles blog. The new challenge for the team is to use 2 or more images, but for you it is anything goes as always.
Now get ready as there are lots of photos on this post.
Here it is in full. I've used the new Festive Christmas collection that was on Create and Craft a couple of weeks ago. You can now buy it from the Polkadoodles store as a download HERE, or a CD HERE. And of course don't forget those lush stamps!
So I've used one of the already made up toppers from the Soup section of the collection. But I then added a Robin on the fence and a tree with a snowflake on top and some baubles on before printing it out. I then also printed a message, an extra snowman, an extra bird and some flowers. I mounted the extras onto 3D foam to add more interest. I have the frost, snow and ice collection from Embellishment Attic so I used some of that. On the bare tree, the flowers, the Christmas tree and the fence I added ice glitter that is iridescent so picks up all sorts of colours. And on the snowman I used the snow glitter which is more clear so just looks white.
I've tried to get some light on the glittered items to give you a better idea.

And there you have it, it actually shows up quite well I think. I use this stuff loads and loads and never seem to get to the bottom of the containers!
Right now you can go over to the team blog to check out the rest of the stunning makes for this weeks challenge. We would also love it if you would join in our challenge, which for you are always anything goes.

2 or more images

Good Morning and Happy Choosday everyone, and that of course means that yet again it is
as well. Are the weeks going faster as we approach the back end of the year? Or is it just because I'm getting older?
After you're done here don't forget to go over to the Digi Choosday blog to grab the code and of course check out my talented teamies makes.
This week the team were challenged to use two or more images and here is my make.
I have used 5 images from the fabulous new Festive Christmas collection. So you can see the 2 gingerbread people, the poinsettia, the foliage and the gingerbread house. I made this by cutting a bauble shape out of a piece of chipboard. (I used the back of a paper pad for this) I glued a piece of paper from the collection to both sides of it and distressed the front side with a file and then put some modelling paste around the edges. I then rolled up some spider web and glued it diagonally across the back. Then I laid some bakers twine across that in a loop. I then fussy cut all the images leaving a white border around them to make then stand out a bit more. I added some sparkly snow to the flowers and foliage, and to the roof of the gingerbread house. I then put 3D foam on the back of everything and arranged on the bauble and then stuck them all in place once I was happy with the arrangement. I used a piece of string to hand the bauble with as I thought it went with the theme. I am going to me making lots of these as I love them so much. I may even give some as gifts to some lucky people! Here is a close up of the layers.
Righto, that's it from me for today. But don't forget to pop over to the blog for the massive discount code for today and of course to check out my teamies makes.
