Hello (again) Friend

Hello I'm back again with another make for Polkadoodles using the fabulous Hello Friend stamp set.
I adore this set and can see me using it a lot!
This is a really quick and simple card, but very effective because of the size of the sentiment.

To make this I stamped the larger butterfly randomly on a piece of water colour card. I did a loose watercolour of them using my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour paints. I then grabbed an off cut of watercolour card and did a wash with the paints in the same colours I used the paint the butterflies. I then stampes the bubbles to create a border around the edge, and that impressive sentiment in the middle. I used a stamping tool and stamped 3 times to make the word very dark. I then did some basic matting and layering and a card is made.

See you again soon.

(You make my) Heart Sing

Helloooo bloggers, it is I again with another make for the Polkadoodles blog team.

This time I've used the Heart Sing stamp set.

To make this card I stamped the beautiful flower image randomly over a 14cm square piece of card, leaving a space in the centre for the sentiment. I then coloured the flowers with Copic Markers. I wanted the flowers to pop more from the page so I outline them with a blue marker to add a bit of shadow. Well as you can see I dropped a pen and ruined the card front. Or did I?

I was quite pleased with the colouring on the flowers and really didn't want to bin it so I stamped a couple more flowers onto some more card and coloured them in. I then fussy cut one out and placed it over where I had made a blob. I turned the card base over and marked on the back on the flower where to trim to match the card.

I then put the extra flower on 3D foam to add further interest.
And then so it looked like I had meant to do that all along I coloured and fussy cut another flower and mounted onto 3D foam and place over the flower at the top left, offsetting the bottom one.
I then mounted the card base onto some black card and then onto a 15cm square card.
And there you have it.

Hope you've learnt something today.
See you next time.

Hello friend(s)

Well I'm back again, who knew lol

So after helping out to do some TV samples for Nikky and Lou Sims, I found myself back on one of the Polkadoodles teams. I am so happy to be back as you all know I have always loved everything Polkadoodles, and it seems Nikky still loves me makes, so here I am. I am part of the new blogging team with some very, very talented crafters. You can find us all HERE on the new blog.

So here is my first make.
I've used the Hello Friend stamp set.

I've started off by stamping onto watercolour card with a sticky ink and then heat embossing with a clear embossing powder.
Then I sprayed a little bit of water into the flower head stamped areas and sprinkling on some Brusho Powder.
I then used a different colour Brusho for the butterflies.
Allow your card to fully dry before the next step.
I used a stamping tool to keep my background in place and placed the hello sentiment from the stamp set where I wanted it. I then stamped the sentiment in black ink. I stamped it again twice more in the same place to ensure nice strong coverage so it stands out.
I then loosely coloured around the flowers and butterflies with some Brushos. And stamped and coloured the flower in the Mason jar onto a separate piece of watercolour card. I then fussy cut that out and glued flat onto the card background. I then drew around it with a black paint pen to make it pop more. Finally I added my usual squiggle around the edges, mounted onto a black mat and then onto an A5 card base.
