Graph'It Markers challenge week 32

Hello all, I have some fabulous (well I think it is) news to share with you today. I have been asked to join the amazingly talented Graph'It Markers design team!! Well you all know how much I love my GI's so of course I jumped at the chance, well, wouldn't you! lol So here is my first card as part of the DT. The theme for the DT is to have a colour hair that is not red, brown or black.

Well of course I chose my favourite colour, (my own hair was this colour last year) and I'm quite please with the result. The image is from the lush Dollie Daydream Girl Talk BCD Collection, as are the papers and the build a fleur. The border and heart stamps, lace, button and ribbon are from my stash.
The colours of the Graph'It Markers I have used are:
Skin: 4115, 4155, 4170 & 4175
Hair: 7140, 7145, 7150, 7155 & 7160
Dress & Shoes: 5110, 5115 & 5120

I do hope this is up to the high standard of the team.
Thanks for visiting today, I would love it if you left me some feedback.

Shaped card tutorial

It's my turn to do a tutorial over at Studio 12 at Polka Doodles and I am going to show you how to make a shaped card using a die.
The papers and embellishments I have used are all from the fabulous Studio 12 CD-rom...Picknix Collection 1.
To start with choose the die you want to use and a card blank that is just smaller than the height of the die.
Lay the die over the top of your card blank so the top of the die hangs over the top of the card. I have also chosen to have it over the edge at the bottom as well as this die wouldn't stand up.
Pass through your die cutting machine and you will now have to shaped card.
To make up your card chose a paper and use the next size die to cut out the paper.
Trim the top and bottom of the die cut paper to have straight edges at the top and bottom to match your card blank.
Next choose all your embellishments and cut them out.
I then used a distress ink to ink the edges of the card, the paper and all the embellishments.
And finally put your card together. I added a bit of lace and some faux stitching around the edges of everything.
I hope you found this useful and will try it out.

Digi Choosday challenge week 2

It's time for another challenge at Digi Choosday and the challenge for the DT this week is "For the boys".

Polka Doodles challenge week 1

Firstly I would like to wish all my followers a happy, healthy and prosperous 2014. And I would love to thank the fabulous Nikky Hall for allowing me to start another year on her amazing team which is full of such talented people. Pop over to the blog to check out our new teamies that are joining us this year. I'm really looking forward to working with them.

The challenge over at Polka Doodles this week is to choose our favourite make from 2013.

Choosing my fave make from 2013 was a very hard job for me as I love all PD products! I eventually decided to go with these tags from October. I used the A Home for Christmas CD Collection I cut out 3 tags in Kraft card and then printed some papers, embellishments and sentiments from the CD. I cut out three strips of papers for each tag and distressed the edges using distress ink. I glued the papers onto the tags and added some faux stitching with a white opaque pen. I then cut out all the embellishments and stuck them in place. I then used a distress ink on the sentiments and added them. I finished off the tags with some ribbon.

Come and join us, for you the challenge is Anything Goes and you stand the chance of winning some great prizes
