The challenge for the DT this week at Digi Choosday at Polka Doodles is "Happy New Year".
I have made a card for my Sister who I very rarely see over the Christmas holidays as she works in a hotel bar, so is ALWAYS working.
The image I have used is the Fredericka Debutante Digistamp which is available as an instant download. She is coloured with my Graph 'It Markers. The papers are from the Girls Hoot Download Bundle which is also available as an instant download. I have distressed the edges of the papers and used a distress ink around everything, and then added some faux stitching. I have also added a few die cuts, some lace, rolled flowers and a sentiment.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to wish all visitors to my blog a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. I really appreciate the time you all take to visit my blog, and even more, those who leave lovely comments for me.

Studio 12 Christmas bunting
I've been really looking forward to putting this up in the house as I love it so much. Is that vain to like your own make? lol
This started out life as plain MDF triangles from the MDF man. I knew straight away what I wanted to do with it. All the papers and embellishments are from the fabulous Studio 12 CD-rom Picknix Collection 2 Gingerbread Twist. I glued all the papers on and used a distress ink around the edges to give it an aged look. I then added some faux stitching with a white opaque pen. I then cut out all the embellishments and also aged them with the distress ink and glued in place. I threaded string through to hang it as I thought ribbon would look odd with it having an aged look. It is now in pride of place behind the bar in our party room. Here are a few close up shots.

Birthday pressie
Today is a sad day for me as it is one year since my best friend from school was taken from us too soon :'( So with this in mind I planned to make my mums birthday present today to keep me occupied, and I am really pleased with how it has turned out. Here it is:
The paper and embellishments are from both of the Picknix CD's from Polka Doodles. I've run a Versamark Inkpad around the edges of the name, the heart and the frame and then gone over it with the Bronze - Metallic Pan Pastel to give an aged effect. I've also added some lace and lots of buttons from my stash. I tend to be quite frugal where buttons are concerned but thought my adorable little Great Nephew and my Mum were worth using them for! The frame was a cheap cardboard one I got at a craft show earlier in the year. I bought 4 of these and now wish I'd bought loads more! lol

Polka Doodles Tutorial week 46
Hi everyone, it's my turn to do the weekly tutorial over at Polka Doodles, and this week I'm going to show you how to make a shaped card if you don't have any dies or cutting machines to use.
With it being close to Christmas I have chosen to make a Christmas stocking card.
With it being close to Christmas I have chosen to make a Christmas stocking card.
The image, papers and embellishments are from the fabulous A Home for Christmas CD Collection.
To start with I chose a paper I wanted to use and then searched the internet for a free stocking template in png format. The png format is just a line drawing with no white background. I put the paper into a graphic program, you could use MS Word if you don't have a graphic program, and then added the stocking template over the top.
I then chose a coordinating paper and the embellishments I wanted to use. I cropped the paper down to a thin strip to use on the top of the stocking.
I then printed all these out. Cut around the stocking shape and put the thin strip of paper over the top of the stocking and cut to size.
Then cut out the rest of the images.
I cut the sentiments and tickets down to size then used a distress ink around the edges of them all and the stocking. Then use a white pen to add faux stitching around them all. This gives the effect of the stocking being more realistic.
Then decide where you want to put all your images and glue in place.
Why not have a go at making one, they would make a great card for a male, which we all know are difficult to do!

Digi Choosday at Polka Doodles challenge week 4
It's that time of week again and here I am with my DT card for today. The theme this week is Celebration and here is my card.
The image is called Fredericka Debutante Digistamp and is coloured with my Graph 'It markers. The papers are from the Fredericka - Mini CD collection. I created the sentiment myself in MS Word. I've added a few handmade rolled roses using the same papers and then die cuts and a large stem rose.

Digi Choosday at PD Challenge week 4
It's time for another Digi Choosday challenge over at Polka Doodles and this week the challenge is to use Autumn colours. Here is my card.
The image I have used is the Emma Canning Under The Weather Digital Stamp which is an instant download so no waiting to play, how fab is that!
I have coloured the image with my Graph' It Markers and the papers are from the Pretty Tuff CD Rom! Who would have thought you could use a male orientated product to create a female card? That's how versatile the Polka Doodles CD's are! I have made the paper roses by cutting a circle out and then cutting it into a spiral and rolling it. I have also added some spiders web and flourishes. Originally the bottom right of the card had more flowers on and a smaller sentiment, and I wanted to add some faux pearls with Cosmic Shimmer. Well, here is what happened!
The end of the bottle was blocked and when I squeezed it the end came off and there was Cosmic shimmer everywhere! So to rescue the card I had to add a large sentiment on a large circle background to hide the mess!

Polka Doodles challenge week 44
The challenge over at Polka Doodles this week is to make or decorate a box for Christmas using the A Home for Christmas CD Collection. Here is my creation.
I printed out one of the papers onto card and cut the box out on my Cameo. I used a cream linen card to give it more of an aged look. I used a distress ink around the edges and corners. I also printed out all the embellishments onto the same cream linen card which I also cut out on my Cameo, of course you could cut them out by hand if you wish. I then made a tag out of the same card and added a sentiment and layered up one of the Poinsettias from the CD.

Polka Doodles challenge week 43
It's not my turn for the challenge at Polka Doodles this week but I wanted to join in as I'm loving working with the A Home for Christmas CD Collection so thought I'd gate crash and join in!
The challenge is to make anything but a card, and here is my project. I cut out 3 tags in Kraft card and then printed some papers, embellishments and sentiments from the CD. I cut out three strips of papers for each tag and distressed the edges using distress ink. I glued the papers onto the tags and added some faux stitching with a white opaque pen. I then cut out all the embellishments and stuck them in place. I then used a distress ink on the sentiments and added them. I finished off the tags with some ribbon.

New weekly blog!
Hello all, I'm very pleased to announce that at Polka Doodles there is a new team dedicated to the digi downloads, and I am part of that team! How exciting! It is called Digi Choosday.
So here is my first card for the first challenge.
Isn't the digi image just adorable! It is called Teddy hug and can be found here. I have coloured him with my Graph' It markers and then sprayed him with Graph'It Mix It Fluid which gives some texture. The papers and embellishments are from the Home for Christmas CD Collection. I have embossed a piece of white card and then used gold, copper and green Pan Pastels. I'm in love with the metallic pans, they give such a great effect!

Polka Doodles challenge week 42
The theme over at Polka Doodles this week is Christmas Is Coming. I decided to do a gatefold easel for this challenge for something a little bit different.
Here is the card
I have used images and papers from the A Home for Christmas CD Collection. The images are coloured with Graph'It Markers and slightly distressed with a distress ink. I've added some spider web, flowers and buttons. There's some real fun images in this collection, it's not all about people, although there are some in it, it's more about houses and Christmas Characters, so there is something for everyone.

Pan Pastel week 41 UK challenge
I have recently started using Pan Pastels and have fallen in love with the metallics so thought I'd enter their challenge. This challenge is "Falling Leaves" and here is what I have created.
For the background I mixed some Pan Pastel with some Gesso and put in on through a leaf mask. I then used a gold, copper and bronze Pan for the background and then went over the leaves again with the green to make them stand out a bit more. I then printed some leaves from the Bonbon Belles Double CD and some trees and acorns from the Cherryblossom Lane CD. I added some copper Pan to the leaves and trees to give them a look of Autumn. I'm really please with how this turned out.

Studio 12 at Polka Doodles
'Tis I again, 2 posts in 2 days, how good am I lol!
I'm here today with a Studio 12 make. This box started out life as a plain paper mache box. I gave it a coat of plain old emulsion then used some distress ink around the edges and corners. I used a mask on the lid to create a bit of a pattern. Then got busy with some Studio 12 stamps. I used the Distressed Zig and Zag stamp set, and the Vintage Ephemera stamp set.
I added some acetate to the lid and used one of the stamps on that as well. This is so easy to do, why not get an old box and get creating. They make lovely little pressies.

A few cards and some candy!
I've finally had a chance to play some more with the fabulous Home for Christmas CD Collection from Polka Doodles and have made a couple of cards.
I have to say I LOVE these cards and will make sure they go to someone special. The images and papers are all from the CD. I've used my Graph 'It Markers to colour the images, I just love the blues and pinks, this is one of my fave colour combos for Christmas cards.
Now, have you seen the fantastic candy up for grabs on the Pan Pastel blog? No, then pop over to here and have a look. Just look at all those goodies, which are worth over £120!! WOW - that is a LOT of stash!!
Good luck everyone!

Polka Doodles challenge week 40
The challenge over at Polka Doodles this week is Autumn. Here is the card I have made.
For the card I have used papers, images and embellishments from the Bonbon Belles Double CD Collection and from the Sundae of Seasons CD-Rom. I created a background in the My Craft Studio program and added some shadows to give depth. I also cut some leaves out separately to add some 3D embellishments to the card.

Polka Doodles Challenge week 38
The challenge over at Polka Doodles this week is Candy Colours.
After looking through the fabby Bonbon Belles Double CD Collection for ages I finally decided on the images to use and came up with this card
I've made a little scene with 4 of the images and added some die cuts. I've slightly coloured the die cuts with some blue distress ink. I used a pre-coloured image this week to show that you don't have to be a colourer to use these CD's as Nikky Hall always gives you pre-coloured digis as well as black and white ones.

Scribble and Scrap
There's a new digi shop on the WWW called Scribble and Scrap which you can find here. At the moment there are a few sections which have Vintage digis, Steampunk digis and Topper and card kits. More will be added as the shop takes off. To go with the shop there is also a challenge blog where you can join in the challenges and show off your makes! This can be found here. The challenges will always be "anything goes" to make it easy for everyone to join in.
So here is my entry into the first ever challenge.
For the card I have used the Vintage Beauty 3 (SKU 0023) and Vintage Floral Border (SKU 0026) digis which you can find here. The images are coloured with Graph It markers which I buy from Polka Doodles as they have the best prices and best delivery around. I've kept this card CAS which is quite a challenge for me to do.
