Polka Doodles card

Todays card is using an image from the new Polka Doodles Candy Doodles Collectors edition CD.
I have coloured the image with Copics and the papers are from the Papermania Blueberry Hill collection. The flowers and leaves are also from the CD, I've just scrunched them up a bit to make a different type of flower. The leaves are actually trees, I just cut the trunks off and I think they work really well as leaves.

Altered heart

I have a few days to myself this week as all the funeral arrangements are now made for Thursday evening and Friday morning so I will try to do a few things and get them on here.
Todays project is altered art. I picked up a couple of these wicker hearts as I thought they were screaming out to be decorated. I had a few hours last night so had a go at doing one and this is the result
I have used elements from My Craft Studios Jewel Brittania CD. The centre piece is embossed with clear embossing powder to give it a gloss finish, it is also decoupaged so has 3 layers on. The flowers are also layered and I've just thought that I will add some gems to the centre of them over the faux gems. I think I'm going to give this to my Grandma as I know she will like it and it would go lovely with the decoration in her bedroom.

sad news

Hi guys, I know I haven't been around this week but I have been busy visiting my Grandad as often as possible and also trying to decorate our living room!
My Grandad was improving slightly each day during the week, to the extent that he was laughing and joking with us, he was still hard to understand as his words were getting mixed up, but he knew who me and mum were, which with his Alzheimer's is amazing, and you could see the twinkle in his eyes when he was laughing. The nurse said he had been singing to her and another old man on the ward had joined in too! He was always singing bless him, even on days when he didn't know who anyone was he managed to remember all the words to his fave songs.
I was about to leave the house yesterday to go pick up my Grandma to go visit him when my phone rang, it was my mums B/F and he broke the horrid news to me that my wonderful Grandad has passed away in the morning at the age of 87 :(
So needless to say I won't be around much again this week as we will be busy making arrangements.
I hope to be back to crafting soon

Simple card

If anyone happens to read my blog regularly, I'm sorry I haven't posted for a while. My Grandad is back in hospital again after having some massive fits, so I've been otherwise occupied. We haven't been able to visit for a few days as the ward has been quarantined due to an outbreak of gastroenteritius. Fingers crossed he starts to improve today and hopefully we can go visit soon.
I did make a few cards earlier in the week and here is one of them.
I have used the Stampin Up Vintage Vougue stamp set, (I think this is one of my fave sets as it's so versatile). I've stamped the leaves in Stampin Up Classic Green and the flowers in Stampin Up Island Indigo. I've layered up the flowers to give the card some dimension and added some bling. The sentiment is from the Stampin Up Curly Cute stamp set. Hopefully I will be back tomorrow with another card for you.

Todays card

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I got a new toy, the new Silhouette Cameo, so was busy unpacking that and before I knew it it was time for me to go get ready to go out!
I did make a card before all that so here it is.
I have used an image from Polka Doodles Pretty Sweet and the papers are from MCS. The image is coloured with all the warm grey ProMarkers. I made the paper flowers myself and the message was made in Word. The ribbon is one I rescued from around a cake! lol
Well I'm off to go play with my Cameo again! See you tomorrow.

Stampin Up card

Todays card is made using Stampin Up products, it's for a friend who attends the same Stampin Up craft class as I do.
The stamp is from the Fast and Fabulous set, and is stamped in Classic Green ink and coloured in Island Indigo ink. The flower is from the Vintage Vogue stamp set and stamped in Island Indigo.

PD

And here is another Polka Doodles card.
Again the image is coloured with ProMarkers. The papers are from the Basic Grey Sultry paper pad. I've used a Martha Stewart punch for the borders. The ribbon, flowers, hat pins and swirl are from my stash. I'm having fun with these PD images so think I might print a few more out and do some monochrome cards today.

Polka Doodles

As I said yesterday I had printed off a few Polka Doodle images so here is another card using one of them.
The image is again coloured with ProMarkers. The papers are from the Papermania scrumptious paper pack. The large flowers are from the Stampin Up Vintage Vogue stamp set and the small ones are from my stash. The sentiment is one I made myself using Word. Come back tomorrow for the card I am making using the last image I printed out.

Another Polka Doodles card

I printed off a few Polka Doodle images when I made yesterdays card so thought I'd make them up into cards instead of shoving them in a box like I usually do! lol
I've done this one for my neighbours grandson.
The image is coloured with my ProMarkers and the papers are also Polka Doodles. I've glazed the image to make it stand out a bit. I've made a rosette from matching card and used a Stampin Up sentiment. I've put some tiny brads and buttons on to add a bit of extra something. I always struggle with boys/mens cards with embellishments as you can't really use flowers, ribbons and glitter can you!
